Hey friends... I think in Maharashtra.. the most common traditional dessert is Puran Poli.. It is made in Maharashtra on every festive occasion... So today I'm going to share its recipe with all of you.... So get ready and just by following the below steps you can also make the tasty Puran Poli at your home...

Ingredients :-
  • Chana Dal (Bengal gram split) - 1/2 cup. {Soaked for about 4-5 hours}.
  • Flour (Maida) - 1/2 cup.
  • Wheat flour - 1/2 cup.
  • Cardamom - 4.
  • Ghee - 4-5 tablespoon.
  • Salt - according to taste.
  • Jaggery (Gur) - 1/2 cup.
Method :-

1.) First, heat 2 tablespoon of ghee in a pan & add jaggery to it.

2.) Cook jaggery on low flame until it starts melting.

3.) Now grind the chana dal to make a thick paste.

4,) Now mix the molten jaggery and chana dal to make a mixture.

5.) Let the mixture be cooled to room temperature.

6.) Prepare a dough of flour & wheat flour same as that we knead for making chapatis.

7.) Now roll a small chapati & fill the mixture in it.

8.) After filling, close the chapati and pack it well and roll it out.

9.) Put a pan on the stove and put shallow fry the puran poli on low flame in ghee until cooked.

10.) After it is cooked, i.e. its color has turned golden brown, put off the flame.

Now your Puran Poli is ready for plating. Cut into 4 pieces and sprinkle a pinch of cardamom powder on it. You can also garnish it with chopped dry fruits. So just try this recipe yourself and please respond to it. Keep visiting..
